                            Worship Services

Our services are conducted in a joyful and reverential manner. In Hebrews 12:28 we
find, "Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show
gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe."
Our services offer worship to God, while strengthening one another.
Our worship services are solely based on what we find recorded in the New
Testament. We partake of the communion every first day of the week, to remember the
sacrifice Christ made on behalf of His people for all time (I Cor. 11:23-29, Acts 20:7).
We offer prayers to God through Christ (I Timothy 2:8), listen to the word of God
proclaimed (Acts 20:7), give as we have been prospered (I Cor. 16:2), and sing
(acappella) with our hearts as a congregation (Ephesians 5:19).
Jesus taught that "...an hour is coming, and now is, when true worshipers shall worship
the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God
is spirit; and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth" (John 4:23-24). We
seek to worship the Lord in spirit (from the heart) and in truth (according to the Bible).

                                  Authority

Our authority is Jesus Christ (Colossians 1:18). In all things we do what God has
commanded us through Christ (Colossians 3:17).  The Apostles received the words of
Christ (John 14:26, Gal. 1:11-12), and the Apostles and prophets were inspired to write
the New Testament (II Timothy 3:16-17).  Therefore the Bible is our only guide.
The conflicting teachings and divisions we see in the religious world today are very
different from the unity and oneness taught by Christ and the New Testament writers
(John 17:17-21; I Corinthians 1:10). Man has placed many personal beliefs and ideas into
practice that distort the purity and doctrine that was taught by our Lord and his
Apostles.   We strive to return to the plain and simple Biblical teachings of our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ and His apostles.  We strive to do what those people did, and became
what they became.
Divisions are not pleasing to God, so we have no denominational
name or creed.
What are Christians only (I Peter 4:16)?

                                  Salvation

Many ask the question, “What must I do to be saved?”  Many are confused and
frustrated with all the religious division around them.  The problem is so many have
added their own "religious" ideas to God's word or they have distorted the facts. We need
truth as defined by God in the Bible. Maybe we need to ask ourselves three questions:
   1. How many different truths did Jesus teach in the first century?
   2. Did He teach His disciples they could teach anything they wanted?
   3. Did He teach His disciples they could vary the teachings, if they wanted?
Paul said he taught the same thing everywhere he went (I Corinthians 4:17). How did
we get today where we have over 600 varied teachings?  The Bible tells us more noble
minded people are those who do not blindly follow what someone says, but searches out
the things spoken to make sure it's right (Acts 17:10-11).
In light of the above, the New Testament teaches us what we must do to be saved.
First, we must HEAR the gospel proclaimed (Rom. 10:17).  Second, we must BELIEVE
that Christ is the son of God, died for our sins, and was raised from the dead (Rom. 10:9-
11).  Third, we must REPENT (be sorrowful and turn away from) our sins (Acts 17:30).
Fourth, we must CONFESS before witnesses that we believe Christ is the son of God
(Rom. 10:9-10, Acts 8:37-38).  Finally, we must be BAPTIZED for the remission of sins
(Mark 16:15-16, Acts 2:38, Acts 22:16), and to have the Lord add us to his Church (Acts
2:41).  After we have obeyed the gospel plan of salvation, we must remain faithful (Rev.
2:10).

                                An Invitation

Your visit with us will be a joyful experience for us and we hope for you too. We do
not single out people from the pulpit nor ask you to do anything other than listen to the
word of God. There are Bibles provided in each of the pews, if you do not have one, so
that you may follow along as the word of God is preached and taught. We have a friendly
group of members of the Lord's body, as that should be the trait of each one of God's
children, and we encourage you to give us the opportunity to get to meet you after the
services. Many will welcome you and encourage you to return to be with us again.
We have Bible courses available for those who are interested in further personal study.
If you have ANY questions-please feel free to ask us.
Again, we truly hope you will accept our invitation to meet with us. It will be our
pleasure and we believe you will be blessed in your desire to know more about the Lord.
